Some folks rescued this great horned owl near a freeway in September. He was injured and having trouble flying. They arranged to meet a wildlife rehabilitator later that day. In the meantime, they were given a box to keep both themselves and the owl safe. Here are some photos from that day. I didn’t know that owls were active at all during the day. I think these photos are great. I especially like the one with him peeking out from the box. BTW- They later were told the owl recovered and was ready for release.
