Well fiddle dee dee…

I know a little about a lot of things. I really do, believe it or not. Something I know absolutely nothing about is computers or to more specific how they connect to the internet. (I could learn brain surgery easier than I can grasp the cyberspace world). I know cyberspace exists . Sometimes, if  Doug is having a particularly condescending moment and we’re working together on something, and I ask him a question he’ll look at me and say “Don’t worry about it. You don’t need to know”. (Lucky for him, he doesn’t say that to me too often). When it comes to computers and the internet though, that’s exactly the approach that I’m taking by choice. Well fiddle, dee dee… I’m just going to go and wait on the veranda and have a mint julep while all you smart folks work on my cyberspace world.

When I have a problem with anything computer related I call my local giant head, Nathan. How he knows everything he knows I have no idea. I don’t want or need to know. I just know that he does. He just sits in this chair and types a series of cryptic codes into the keyboard and it’s fixed. He and Amanda lived here with us until late spring before they moved into their first house, a few miles away. Before they moved he showed me how to troubleshoot a few things by myself. So before I ever call him I reboot the computer and even unplug and re-start the modem. Not really sure what all that does, however I do it anyway because he tells me to. Sometimes that works. I’m not totally helpless.

The past few days my blog has been having server problems. I’m not even sure what that means, except that I haven’t been able to get to my blog when I want to. Neither have the people who’ve wanted to see what’s going on in my crazy life. (Nate tells me that he may be moving my server whatever that means). He’s in class right now so I can’t ask him whether that’s been done or not. I’m just going to write this and try to post it. Thanks for hanging in with me.
