I can certainly understand why you’d be concerned about lung cancer. I was not raised in a smoky house, and it’s not something I worry about. But it could still get me. I think male menopause is a deepening of an already existing mental illness. But that’s just my opinion.

Princess, you are a fatalist, just like my dad was. I am too to a certain degree; that’s why I’m wiling to take risks that perhaps others wouldn’t just to get a thrill.

Still, when my time does come, I just hope I go in an instant like a supernova. Like I said I’m a chicken.

I do think there’s something to male menopause, yes. I’d keep an eye on that guy if I were you.

My bucket list includes realizing that I am mortal and finishing a major work. Other than that, I’ve jumped out of an airplane, slept with a Russian, and free-climbed up the side of a substantial cliff. I think that about does me for now. :-)

My mom talks about the chemicals she was exposed to as a child and how she thinks it’s contributed to her and all of her siblings suffering from depression and anxiety. She told one story of how her dad brought home heavy duty machinery oil to stain their staircase with and her sister and brother covered themselves head to toe in the stuff. I always figure that you could be diagnosed with a brain tumor and then walk out of the hospital and get hit by a car. When it’s time to go, it’s time to go. I just hope I go out in some hilarious way. :) (although I still would be way to chicken to go swimming in that pool!)

Those babies are ADORABLE!! I’m not too sure about the swimming hole–I wonder about the intelligence of the first guy to find out it was “safe”. Now that I think of it, the first person to try an artichoke must have really been hungry!

Michele, I share your fears although, while there was smoke inmy home growing up, it wasn’t as extreme as your house sounds. Keep your immune system strong…sleep enough, eat right, etc. and those naughty things won’t dare come a callin’.

Aunt Fely, our nanny for almost 30 years was old enough to brought over lunch outside my mom’s house. She’s already a part of our family. I just gave her a gift which I know she really appreciated it, coz it made her cry (again).

The nanny seemed very sweet, which is a good thing because I think mom had vinegar in her veins. As far as the Lamborghini goes- I’d actually have sold it and bought a new house- one with a bigger yard suitable for more perros.

You are hilarious Michele – I love that you get to meet these weirdos and then tell us all about them … so we can stay safe in our little bubbles :-)
… though I did meet a young woman recently, who had two children via IVF (not twins)… she had maids and a live-in Nanny (which is UNHEARD of here)… and she was complaining that the children made her tired… I wanted to slap her… hard… but you get arrested for that kind of thing here…

Way too much stress in having an expensive car. Every door ding will push you closer to Crazyville. My dream car is an old Eldorado, maybe pink so I could blast Bruce Springsteen’s Pink Cadillac song while driving around. Not that the old boat would ever fit into a modern garage but if someone cut me off in traffic, I’d ram them with my tank/caddie.

Well said girlfriend! I am blessed that my mom is still here, still as crazy and wonderful as always. Although I don’t get to spend mothers day with her she knows wherever she is I am standing right beside her reminding her not to laugh too hard. (she has a loose bladder).
