I realize that Valentines Day is still a few days away. However if there is one thing that someone in a relationship should remember it’s not to wait to the last minute with your Valentines Day preparations. So to that end I’ve decided to provide everyone with some cards, gifts and other assorted Valentine goodies.

Let’s start off with some cards…

I think that sentiment says a lot more than the old standard “I Love You”. Don’t you agree?

Not a fan of that one? How about this one?

Perfect for that woman who’s Valentine Box at school was always overflowing when she was a girl. And this was back in the dark ages when you only gave a Valentine to your Valentine, not every kid in the class whether you liked them or not. I knew a girl like that. She always wore patent leather shoes and of course she was so pretty- excessively pretty.

And she knew it. She was an only child and a spoiled brat to boot. Go figure.

I hated her in elementary school; but I was in good company. The other 13 girls in our 5th grade class felt the same way.

And finally a card that I hope no one ever receives. Especially on Valentine’s Day.

But enough with cards…

Now if your significant other is in a battle with the demon chocolate, I may just have the perfect gift suggestion.

LeWhif is actually whiffable chocolate. It comes in an assortment of flavors. And if your Valentine takes offense when given LeWhif and tries to regift it to you in a particularly intimate place at least it’s shape should make the experience as painless as possible.

If your Valentine isn’t worried about ingesting too much sugar then how about giving them a box of these? Be forewarned some of these can be quite direct.

Finally, I found one gift of an even more personal nature. And it’s free…how good is that?

I must give Doug props. He took each member of the pack out for a walk this morning. I’d put them out the dog door earlier; however when they came in totally dry I knew they hadn’t done their business outside. So they had to be walked.

It’s not such a huge thing in the summer, but last night another blast of arctic cold came into Houston, bringing with it icy rain. We’ve already had the high for the day. The temperature is dropping. We’ll be back in the 20′s tonight.

And although we didn’t really get snow here, the weather is total crap; so I found this card appropriate. I think it’d be appropriate for most women who don’t live in San Diego, Miami, Phoenix or Los Angeles.

Evelyn sent me something this morning. It was an clip about a shop that was on ETSY. The shop carried “You Stupid Bitch” cards. Check this out.

Offended? Me too.

It takes a lot to get me truly offended. I like most things that are politically incorrect. If you were with me at Christmas you know that as I ran a series of politically incorrect Christmas funnies. Most people I think enjoyed them. If you haven’t seen them, go back and search for” Christmas funny” here on the blog.

I like things that are edgy. I think a lot of the Bluntcards are really funny.

But the “You Stupid Bitch” cards that ETSY chose to put on their site weren’t edgy. The edge was nowhere in site. They go so far over the edge you can’t even see the edge anymore.

Just what kind of sick sick twit would send a card that say “Congratulations, you’ve got breast cancer.” or “Congratulations, you got bad touched.”?

Worse yet, what kind of sick asshole would think to design one?

I went to the “You Stupid Bitch” site itself. Oh, it was a real doozie, let me tell you. In my opinion they weren’t many laughs to be had there.

I sent ETSY an email concerning their decision to carry these cards. I felt I needed to.

I couldn’t believe it this morning when a friend of mine sent me the info on the “You Stupid Bitch” cards that you’ve put on ETSY. Does no one look at the content of a shop before it goes up on your site? What’s in these cards is reprehensible. Just because they made them doesn’t mean you have to allow them on your site. If someone sent you card promoting pedophilia would you carry that too? What about domestic violence or animal abuse? I’ve been a huge fan of ETSY for a very long time. However, I won’t be back until I’m sure those cards are no longer there.

I have friends who’ve been raped and my mom had breast cancer. I have friends who are battling it still. I am incensed.

Sadly, all you’ve done is enrage and marginalize a vast number of people and in the process you are hurting your vendors. Someone at ETSY has made a very bad decision indeed.

Sorry to be such a downer today; but I felt I just really needed to share this. If you feel the same, please let ETSY know.

I think I’m gonna go play some miniature golf and try to get my blood pressure down.

Knowing how serious it was, I knew I had to pick out just the right card. I’d seen this one awhile back. However, you know you just can’t send that card to anyone. They have to be special.

When Mr. Lady told me she really liked it, I knew she’d be just fine.

I appreciate all the suggestions that I’ve gotten on how to handle Mae, hater of everything good in life. Some of the suggestions have been, let’s say, creative. (I got a real belly laugh from a couple of them.) I’ve read them all and have them safely filed them away so I can reference them later if need be.

Demdog62 I especially liked yours. Please do keep in touch with me. (I don’t know many people who have access to boats at night.) Anyway, just to show that I’m an adult and can move on, I’ve decided to take the high road- that this will be the end of it; unless of course she mows me down while flying around town on her broom.

As I was reading your suggestions today I remembered Bluntcards. (Most of them are completely filthy.) Bluntcards can be just the exact right way to express a particular sentiment. Here’s one I found today when I was thinking of Mae.

Bluntcards…for when Hallmark is just waaaay too nice.

BTW- Please feel free to leave a comment on this site. I promise not to hunt you down like a rabid dog.

A friend of mine recently told me about Stumble Upon. I really like the site and can spend an enormous amount of time on it without even realizing it. One thing I stumbled upon the other day was Bluntcard.com. It has some really funny cards. Be forewarned however, it is not for the faint of heart or those easily offended by vulgar language.

Now that I no longer see my older brother, my holiday meals are much less stressful so I really don’t need alcohol to get through. However I remember more than a few holiday meals over the years when having had a buzz would’ve been most welcome. (I never went there because my mom was always blitzed by the time dinner was served). This is going to be a very quiet Thanksgiving dinner by compare- how strange.

I think I’ll finish planning our Thanksgiving dinner today. Evelyn’s making the traditional dinner- turkey, dressing, etc. for everyone on Friday. I’m making a different Thanksgiving dinner for everyone on Thursday. Evelyn requested that I make Paul Prudhomme’s Cajun Stuffed Roast. It isn’t stuffed with a regular stuffing, bread or cornbread. (Instead it’s stuffed with onion, peppers, garlic and butter). It is sooo good. In fact, I may make two so that she can take one home with her. It’s not that any of us really need two big dinners, however we just like to do it and life is short so why not? It’s a cold and drizzly day here. I hope the weather is better where you are. Have the best Saturday that you can.
